第一次在英國參加特映會，這次看了 6/18 將在英國上映的《紐約高地》(In The Heights)。
從去年開始就期待很久，後來因為疫情延檔，沒想到最後在英國看到。整體而言滿喜歡的，音樂劇躍上大銀幕依然保有它的魅力和生猛，在許多仍然無法開放現場劇院的地方，這部電影會令人懷念起劇院的氛圍和歌舞劇的活力。加上電影對拉丁裔族群的致敬，充分展現出紐約的多元，也呼應最近幾年好萊塢對於少數族群的關注。
來自《瘋狂亞洲富豪》導演朱浩偉的新作，同樣看得見他的風格，華麗，熱情，感染力，透過一眾演員的歌舞魅力烘托電影張力，但同樣也有著《瘋》的小缺點——太努力想要讓電影變得完美，包含畫面、聲音都幾乎挑不出毛病，但有時候有一些不完美的地方，反而能讓故事變得真實，這也是我們之所以喜歡看現場表演的原因。
但能在好萊塢中看到愈來愈多文化被呈現出來，依然是件好事，這部電影也會是很多地方在邁向疫情解封之後，再次讓觀眾感受戲院魅力的一個新開端。

“In The Heights” is a delightful celebration of life and dreams as a homage to the Latino community which also brought back the magical theatrical experience that we wax nostalgic for. Through the talented ensemble, the energy of every musical number is infectious, vibrant and sensational that left the audience with a smile.
Jon M. Chu shows his mature direction of feel-good films after his previous commercial hit “Crazy Rich Asians.” Well, it does have a similar problem with CRA- it tries too hard to be flawless, sometimes to be authentic is to be imperfect.
But It’s always a pleasure to see diverse cultural representation in Hollywood films these years. I’m sure that it would be a refreshing start during our first back in theatres and cinemas.
